Welcome to the website for Battersea Ironsides Cricket Club.
With origins in a TA Tank Regiment based at Clapham Junction, the Battersea Ironsides Rugby Football Club was established in 1943. Cricket and Football sections were subsequently formed and the Club moved to it present ground in Burntwood Lane, Earlsfield, London, SW17 in 1983. Since moving to Burntwood Lane, the Cricket section has gone from strength to strength. We now field 5 Saturday sides, 2 Sunday sides and a midweek XI.
The Saturday sides are currently in the Kookaburra Fordham Surrey Cricket League and the Fullers Surrey Cricket Club, having 2 and 3 sides in each respectively. The first team compete in the Fullers League and were promoted along with the 2nd XI last season.
The club welcomes all new members and attracts players from the multi-ethnic residents of Wandsworth and the surrounding Boroughs. We are a very social club and have a tour to the Isle of Wight planned for this year.
The ground does have its own pavilion and bar, and the social side is an important part of the Club's activities. Annual Subscriptions and Match Fees are competitive, although we do currently have a policy of pay to play.
